About the Course

Course Description

This one hour program is designed for healthcare professionals directly involved with the care of the patient requiring intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation (IABC) therapy. 

The program begins with a brief review of the hemodynamics of counterpulsation, followed by a discussion on proper placement of the percutaneous intra-aortic balloon catheter and then an overview of technical aspects of the IABP. - Demonstration of the Getinge IABP set-up will also be included in this program - Live QA session.

This program has been approved by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), for 1.00 CERPs, Synergy CERP Category A, File Number 23150. Approval refers to recognition of continuing education only and does not imply AACN approval or endorsement of the content of this educational activity, or the products mentioned.
